Ingredients

Units Scale

Marinade

  • 1 pound ribeye steak (cut into 1-inch bite-size pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sweet soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (coarsely ground)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (such as sambal oelek)
  • 2 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Marinade the steak: Combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet soy sauce, black pepper, cornstarch, and baking soda. Add steak pieces, mix well, and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Make the sauce: Mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, chili garlic sauce, and water in a bowl.
  3. Cook the steak: Heat a skillet over high heat, cook the marinated steak bites for a few minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Serve: Drizzle the sauce over the cooked steak bites and enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less chili garlic sauce.
  • For a sweeter taste, increase the amount of honey in the sauce.
