Description

These delectable croissants are filled with savory ham and melted cheese, then baked to golden perfection. Ideal for a quick breakfast, lunch, or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large croissants
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 12 slices deli ham
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Assemble the Croissants:
    • Slice each croissant in half lengthwise.
    • Place 2 slices of Swiss cheese on the bottom half of each croissant.
    • Add a slice of ham on top of the cheese.
    • Place another slice of Swiss cheese over the ham.
    • Cover with the top half of the croissant.
  3. Prepare the Glaze:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, honey, Dijon mustard, and poppy seeds.
  4. Glaze the Croissants:
    • Brush the glaze generously over the top of each assembled croissant.
  5. Bake:
    • Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet.
    • Bake for 7-9 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are golden brown.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can sprinkle a pinch of dried herbs, such as thyme or oregano, over the glaze before baking.
  • These croissants are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven to restore their crispiness.
  • To make ahead, assemble the croissants and refrigerate them overnight. In the morning, brush with the glaze and bake as directed.
