Ingredients
– 1 1/2 pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined
– Kosher salt to taste
– Ground black pepper to taste
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, divided (1/2 stick or 4 tablespoons)
– 1/2 cup diced yellow onion
– 6 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, plus more to taste
– 2/3 cup dry white wine
– 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
– 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– Chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges for garnish
– Cooked pasta or rice for serving
Instructions
1. Season shrimp with salt and pepper.
2. In a large skillet, melt half of the butter over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, then remove from skillet.
3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and sauté onion, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
4. Deglaze the skillet with white wine, then stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until melted.
5. Return shrimp to the skillet and cook until heated through.
6. Serve over pasta or rice, garnished with parsley and lemon wedges.
Notes
– For a lighter version, use half-and-half or milk instead of heavy cream.
– Add cherry tomatoes or spinach for extra flavor and nutrients.
