Ingredients
– 1 boneless turkey breast (about 4 to 5 pounds) or 1 bone-in turkey breast (about 6 pounds)
– 1 tablespoon kosher salt
– 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 medium lemon
– 2 carrots, scrubbed and cut into 2-inch pieces
– 2 celery stalks, cut into 2-inch pieces
– 1 red apple, cut into 8 wedges
– 8 sprigs fresh thyme
– 1 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
– 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Season the turkey breast with salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
2. Place the carrots, celery, apple, lemon wedges, and thyme in the bottom of the crockpot.
3. Put the seasoned turkey breast on top of the vegetables.
4. Pour the wine or chicken broth over the turkey.
5. Drizzle melted butter over the turkey.
6. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
7. Let the turkey rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
