- 10–12 chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or vegetable oil)
- 2 tablespoons jerk seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or coconut aminos for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar or honey (optional, for sweetness)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This will help them get crispy.
- In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, jerk seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, allspice, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, soy sauce, lime juice, and brown sugar. Mix well.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the seasoning mixture. Let it marinate for at least 10-15 minutes (or up to an hour if you have time).
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with a little oil.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. If necessary, work in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden brown.
- Serve immediately with a side of dipping sauce, if desired.
Notes
- For extra heat, add more cayenne pepper or some chopped fresh Scotch bonnet pepper to the marinade.
- For a slightly smoky flavor, you can add a few drops of liquid smoke to the marinade.
- If you prefer baked wings, cook at 400°F in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway.
