Description

This Easy Sweet Condensed Milk Bread is soft, fluffy, and lightly sweetened with condensed milk. Perfect for breakfast, as an afternoon snack, or for any special gathering, this bread is incredibly simple to make and bakes up beautifully every time.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 can (14 oz) Sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) Yeast (active dry or instant)
  • 3 tbsp Butter (melted)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Warm water
  • 1 tsp Sugar

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: Combine warm water and sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle yeast over the water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and mix well.
  3. Add the Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, stirring until a dough forms. Knead by hand if necessary until it becomes a soft dough.
  4. Knead the Dough: Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Add flour as needed, but keep the dough soft.
  5. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the Dough: Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Second Rise: Cover the loaf and let it rise for 30-60 minutes until puffed up.
  8. Bake the Bread: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. The bread should sound hollow when tapped.
  9. Cool and Slice: Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • If you want an extra soft loaf, cover it with a damp cloth during the rising process.
  • For an extra sweet touch, drizzle some honey or extra condensed milk over the bread before baking.
  • The water used for activating the yeast should be warm (not hot) to ensure the yeast rises properly.
