Description

A savory twist on the classic French dip sandwich, this French Dip Biscuit Bake is made with tender beef, melty cheese, and a buttery biscuit topping that soaks up all the flavorful beef juices. It’s the perfect comforting meal to enjoy for dinner or when you have guests over!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can biscuits (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup French onion dip
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, diced

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for 6-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced onions and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Cut biscuits into quarters and set aside.
  6. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread the beef mixture. Top with half of the mozzarella and Swiss cheese.
  7. Layer the quartered biscuits over the beef, drizzle French onion dip on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Serve hot with a side of au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add sliced jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
  • You can use leftover roast beef instead of ground beef for a different flavor.
  • For a vegetarian version, use plant-based meat and vegetable broth.
