Scale
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 8 oz Cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 12–16 Bread rounds (rye or pumpernickel)
- 1–2 tbsp Hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, crumbling it as it cooks. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
- Mix the Beef and Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, combine cooked ground beef with cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir until smooth and creamy. Optional: Add hot sauce or cayenne pepper for extra heat.
- Prepare the Bread: Slice the bread into small rounds. Place on a baking sheet.
- Assemble the Bites: Spoon a generous amount of the beef and cheese mixture onto each bread round. Spread evenly.
- Bake and Serve: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until bubbly and golden. For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve Warm: Let cool slightly before serving. Best served fresh from the oven.
Notes
- Use rye or pumpernickel bread for best results, but other sturdy breads like baguette slices work too.
- If making ahead, assemble the bites and refrigerate them. Bake when ready to serve.
