Ingredients
- Chicken breast: 2 large (about 1 pound), cut into 1 to 1.5-inch chunks
- Sausage: 3-4 links (about 12 oz), your choice of Italian sausage, smoked sausage, or bratwurst, sliced into 1-inch rounds or chunks
- Honey: 3 tablespoons
- Dijon mustard: 3 tablespoons
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder: 1 teaspoon
- Paprika: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
- Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
- Wooden or metal skewers: 4-6 (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before use)
Instructions
- Prepare the Honey Mustard Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Set aside. - Prep the Chicken and Sausage:
Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized chunks (about 1 to 1.5 inches). Slice sausages into rounds or chunks. - Skewer the Chicken and Sausage:
Thread the chicken and sausage onto skewers, alternating between them. Leave some space between each piece for even cooking. - Coat with Honey Mustard Glaze:
Brush the skewered chicken and sausage with the honey mustard glaze. Reserve some glaze for brushing while cooking. - Grill the Skewers:
Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C). Brush with glaze while grilling for a caramelized finish. - Serve and Enjoy:
Once skewers are golden brown and cooked through, let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
