- 1 lb (450g) ground pork sausage (mild or spicy, depending on preference)
- 1 (8 oz / 225g) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 (8 oz / 225g each) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them.
- Cook the sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease and set aside to cool slightly.
- Make the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Assemble the bites:
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- Place about 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture in the center of each triangle.
- Roll up the dough, starting at the widest end, and pinch the edges to seal.
- Bake: Arrange the bites on the prepared baking sheets, seam side down, leaving space between each. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions, if desired.
Notes
- For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling.
- These can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge before baking. Just bake fresh when ready to serve!
