Description

A flavorful and indulgent Louisiana BBQ Shrimp recipe featuring a rich, buttery sauce with bold spices. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy, spicy meal at home.

Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined): 1 lb (450g)
  • Butter: 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick)
  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic (minced): 4 cloves
  • Lemon: 1 medium (for fresh juice)
  • Cajun seasoning: 1 tablespoon
  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon
  • Worcestershire sauce: 2 teaspoons
  • Hot sauce: 1-2 teaspoons (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley: 2 tablespoons (chopped for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Shrimp: Peel and devein the shrimp if necessary. Optionally, leave tails on for extra flavor and presentation. Set aside.
  2. Make the Garlic-Butter Sauce: Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil, heat for 1 minute, then sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).

  3. Add the Seasonings: Stir in Cajun seasoning, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Simmer for 1-2 minutes to infuse the spices into the sauce.

  4. Cook the Shrimp: Add shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.

  5. Finish with Lemon and Parsley: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the cooked shrimp and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Toss to combine and serve.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the shrimp—they cook quickly and should remain tender.
  • Add more hot sauce or cayenne pepper for extra spice.
  • Fresh lemon juice makes a significant difference in flavor.
  • Great for leftovers—store in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days.
