Ingredients
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Noodles:
Cook egg noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions (7-8 minutes). Drain and set aside. -
Make the Creamy Sauce:
In a separate saucepan, melt cream cheese over low heat, stirring constantly. Once melted, add sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Add a pinch of paprika or hot sauce for extra flavor, if desired. -
Combine the Noodles and Sauce:
Add drained noodles to the saucepan with the creamy sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water or milk to adjust the consistency. -
Serve and Garnish:
Transfer noodles to serving plates and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra creaminess, use full-fat sour cream and cream cheese.
- You can substitute egg noodles with other pasta like penne, fusilli, or spaghetti.
- For a tangier flavor, add lemon juice to the sauce.
- Customize with protein like chicken, bacon, or ground beef for a heartier dish.
