Description

This Quick & Delicious Pineapple Dump Cake is a refreshing and easy dessert that’s perfect for summer gatherings or lazy afternoons. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a moist, fruity cake topped with a buttery brown sugar crumble that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven : Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or spray it with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. Add the Pineapple : Pour the entire can of crushed pineapple (including juice) into the prepared baking dish. Spread it out evenly across the bottom.

  3. Sprinkle the Cake Mix : Open the box of yellow cake mix and sprinkle the dry mix evenly over the pineapple layer. Don’t worry if it doesn’t cover the pineapple completely—it will settle during baking.

  4. Make the Topping : In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon (if using). Mix until smooth and well combined. Drizzle this mixture evenly over the top of the cake mix layer.

  5. Bake : Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling. Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.

  6. Serve : Serve warm or at room temperature. Optionally, top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.

Notes

  • For a tropical twist, add a handful of chopped macadamia nuts or coconut flakes to the topping mixture.
  • If you prefer a firmer texture, drain half the pineapple juice before adding it to the pan.
  • This cake can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat individual slices in the microwave for 15–20 seconds before serving.
