Ingredients
Scale
- Rice Krispies cereal – 4 cups
- Butter – 1/4 cup (1/2 stick)
- Marshmallows – 10 oz (about 40 large marshmallows)
- Chocolate chips – 1 cup
- A pinch of salt (optional, about 1/8 teaspoon)
Instructions
- Melt the Butter and Marshmallows: Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth.
- Mix in the Rice Krispies: Add Rice Krispies cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture and stir until fully coated.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips gently, allowing the heat of the marshmallow mixture to slightly melt the chocolate.
- Shape the Cookies: Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Press them gently with the back of the spoon to form cookie shapes.
- Let Them Set: Let the cookies cool at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour until firm.
Notes
- Don’t overheat the marshmallows; low-medium heat is best to prevent them from getting too sticky.
- Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture.
- You can add more chocolate chips if you prefer a more chocolatey flavor.
