- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel bits or caramel sauce

- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie dough ball before baking.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are set.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

- If using caramel sauce instead of caramel bits, drizzle it into the dough gently or spoon it on top of each cookie before baking.
