Description

Shrimp Butter is a rich, creamy blend of shrimp, garlic, butter, and spices. Perfect for spreading on toast, using as a dip, or drizzling over your favorite seafood dishes, this gourmet butter is quick to make and incredibly flavorful. A must-try for seafood lovers!

Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) – 1/2 pound (about 225g)
  • Unsalted butter (room temperature) – 1/2 cup (1 stick or 113g)
  • Garlic (minced) – 2 cloves
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) – 2 tablespoons
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Pepper – 1/4 teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Paprika (optional) – 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Cook the Shrimp: In a medium skillet, melt butter or olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. Blend the Shrimp: Chop the shrimp finely or pulse them in a food processor. Avoid making a paste—just finely minced shrimp.

  3. Make the Butter: In a bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, and chopped shrimp. Add salt, pepper, and paprika (optional) to taste.

  4. Mix in Fresh Parsley: Stir in chopped parsley to finish.

  5. Chill and Serve: Roll the butter into a log using plastic wrap, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to meld the flavors. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Fresh shrimp makes the best shrimp butter. Ensure frozen shrimp is thawed and drained properly.
  • You can add red pepper flakes for extra spice.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, finely chop the shrimp by hand.
