Description

This flavorful, spicy beef noodle dish features tender beef, savory noodles, and a spicy, tangy sauce that hits all the right notes. Quick, easy, and utterly satisfying, it’s the perfect meal for any night of the week.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or sliced beef, if preferred)
  • 8 oz egg noodles, ramen, or rice noodles (your choice)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (fresh or ground)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili paste or sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions (chopped, for garnish)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles:
    • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and toss in a little sesame oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. Sauté the Beef:

    • In a large pan or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks. If using sliced beef, sear on both sides until crispy and golden. Remove beef and set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry the Aromatics:

    • In the same pan, add more sesame oil if needed. Sauté the minced garlic and ginger for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Make the Sauce:

    • Add soy sauce, chili paste or sriracha, and brown sugar to the pan. Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened. Adjust sweetness or spice as needed.
  5. Combine the Beef and Noodles:

    • Return the cooked beef to the pan. Toss in the noodles, stirring to coat everything in the sauce. Add a little water or soy sauce if the sauce is too thick.
  6. Garnish and Serve:

    • Serve the noodles in bowls, garnishing with chopped green onions and optional red pepper flakes for more heat.

Notes

  • Spice Control: Start with less chili paste and sriracha, and add more to taste for desired heat.
  • Noodle Variations: Try rice noodles or zucchini noodles for a gluten-free option.
  • Protein Substitutes: Swap ground beef for chicken, pork, shrimp, or tofu for different flavors.
