Description
This Strawberry Pineapple Salsa is the perfect blend of sweetness and tang, adding a tropical twist to your favorite chips, grilled meats, or tacos. It’s super easy to make and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 cup pineapple (fresh or canned), chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
Instructions
-
Prep the Fruit
Wash your strawberries thoroughly. Remove the stems and chop them into small, bite-sized pieces. Do the same with the pineapple—if using fresh pineapple, peel and cut into small chunks. If using canned pineapple, drain it well to avoid extra liquid. -
Chop the Veggies
Finely chop the red onion and add it to the mixing bowl with the strawberries and pineapple. -
Add the Freshness
Finely chop fresh cilantro and add it to the bowl. Squeeze in fresh lime juice. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. -
Mix and Taste
Gently toss everything together and adjust salt and lime juice as desired. For more spice, add a chopped jalapeño or a dash of chili flakes. -
Let It Rest
Let the salsa sit for about 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For an extra burst of flavor, add a splash of orange juice to complement the pineapple and strawberries.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days for best freshness.
- Salsa is meant to be enjoyed cold, so avoid reheating.
