Description

This creamy, savory Sausage Cheese Dip is the ultimate party snack or game day treat! With spicy sausage, melted cheese, and a creamy base, it’s a crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s perfect for dipping. Serve it with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for an irresistible bite.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, depending on preference)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup diced green onions (optional)
  • 1/4 cup diced bell peppers (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking the sausage)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.
  2. Once hot, add the ground sausage to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the softened cream cheese to the skillet and stir until it melts into the sausage.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese. Continue to stir until the cheese is fully melted and smooth.
  5. Stir in the sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  6. Optional: Add diced green onions and bell peppers for extra flavor and texture.
  7. Serve warm with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping.

Notes

  • If you like it spicier, try using spicy sausage or add a dash of hot sauce or jalapeños.
  • The dip can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove.
  • You can add more cheese for an extra creamy dip, or use a combination of cheeses like pepper jack for a kick.
