Units
Scale
- 1 lb ground breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, depending on preference)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup diced green onions (optional)
- 1/4 cup diced bell peppers (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking the sausage)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil.
- Once hot, add the ground sausage to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the softened cream cheese to the skillet and stir until it melts into the sausage.
- Lower the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese. Continue to stir until the cheese is fully melted and smooth.
- Stir in the sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Optional: Add diced green onions and bell peppers for extra flavor and texture.
- Serve warm with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping.
Notes
- If you like it spicier, try using spicy sausage or add a dash of hot sauce or jalapeños.
- The dip can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove.
- You can add more cheese for an extra creamy dip, or use a combination of cheeses like pepper jack for a kick.
