Scale
- 4 large russet potatoes (or Yukon gold potatoes), sliced into 1/4-inch thick rounds
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional, for a creamier texture)
Instructions
- Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 200°C).
- Prepare the Potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Grill the Potatoes: Arrange the potato slices in a single layer on the grill. Grill for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and tender, turning occasionally.
- Make the Garlic Cheese Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and garlic together. Stir in the heavy cream (if using), and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens. Add the shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese, stirring until fully melted.
- Combine and Serve: Remove the grilled potatoes from the grill and place them on a serving platter. Drizzle the cheese sauce over the grilled potatoes, and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes to the cheese sauce.
- You can use other types of cheese, like mozzarella or gouda, to customize the flavor.
- This recipe works well on a gas or charcoal grill.
